US to shut down Iranian airlines as part of effort to isolate Tehran

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has announced Iranian airlines will be shut down from Wednesday. It is part of Operation Economic Outcast, designed to isolate Tehran in the global financial system. Mr Bessent is threatening secondary sanctions on companies if they provide services to the airlines.
