The US and Iran have exchanged their heaviest aerial assaults in a month as the war in the Middle East resumes. The renewed fighting is driving up oil prices, and US President Donald Trump has shown no indication he plans to renew negotiations with Iran. The US targeted Iranian air defences, radar and communications sites, and mine-laying capabilities. Iran responded by firing missiles and drones towards Jordan and other Gulf countries where US forces are stationed. US and Jordanian officials say all missiles were intercepted or landed in remote areas.
