US admits to deploying weapons in space

Space is fast emerging as the next possible theatre for conflict. The US has acknowledged for the first time that the Pentagon is planning on weaponising space. There have been rumours for years about American weapons deployed in space, and on Monday, local time, the military confirmed it. US Air Force Secretary Troy Meink admitted America has weapons stationed in Earth’s orbit. Meanwhile, US Space Force claimed these capabilities can be “employed for offensive and defensive purposes at the direction of combatant commands”.
