‘Unsustainable ’: Australia still not on top of inflation battle

​Shadow Assistant Minister for Citizenship Dave Sharma says inflation has stayed above the RBA’s target band for the past three years, leaving Australia in an “unsustainable position”. ​“Inflation is still at 3.8 per cent; that is well out of the RBA’s target band of two to three per cent,” Mr Sharma told News24 host Sharri Markson. ​"It's also higher than any other, well, nearly all other advanced economies. ​“Australia is an outlier here, and it shows we are not on top of the inflation problem yet.” ​“The truth is, the RBA has pointed out that government spending, excessive government spending, keeps adding to inflationary pressures in Australia.”
