Trump says ‘no taxpayers’ will pay for the White House ballroom

US President Donald Trump has clarified that no taxpayer money is being used for the White House ballroom project. The US Supreme Court has temporarily allowed above-ground construction to continue, giving judges more time to consider the Trump administration’s request for the project to proceed. Mr Trump says he will soon disclose the donors funding the A$550 million ballroom. A preservation group is leading a lawsuit against the construction, arguing it is causing irreversible damage to the historic landmark.
