Trump pushes for new Cuban government, says military intervention not needed

US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that America can achieve political reform in Cuba through diplomatic means rather than military intervention. He has stated his support for government change on the island, which has been subject to a US-imposed oil blockade since January. Cuba continues to experience frequent blackouts and power grid issues, partly due to its ageing infrastructure. Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Mr Trump said he remains hopeful that the situation can be resolved without deploying troops.
