Treasurer Jim Chalmers says progress is being made on bringing inflation down and is pleased with the June results. Mr Chalmers said, “[Inflation is] lower than what the market expected. Certainly, lower than what we expected at budget time, and lower than was forecast by the Reserve Bank”. “This is the third consecutive month where annual headline inflation has come down. “It is an encouraging outcome that shows that we’ve made some progress on inflation since the budget.”
