Threat from extreme left grows as Palestinian flag ‘comes to represent violence’

Former staffer for President Clinton Jamie Metzl says it’s “not at all coincidental” that the Palestinian flag emerges at sites of violence. ​“We have a very significant percentage of the far left, which is aggressively inciting violence against Jews and other groups. When people are calling to globalise the Intifada, this is exactly what they mean,” Mr Metzl told News24 host Elizabeth Pipko. ​“I'm somebody who has for my entire life supported a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, but this flag in this context has come to represent violence.”
