Former treasurer Joe Hockey says the AI “horse has bolted” and that it can no longer be slowed down. “All governments are going to have to be concerned about the capacity of AI to threaten their own power base,” Mr Hockey told News24. “Beijing would be as concerned about what AI can do as perhaps, we are. “You can’t slow it down. The horse has bolted here.”
