‘Simply not possible’ for Israel’s maximalist demand for complete Hamas disarmament to be met
Sky News AustraliaJNS News Washington Correspondent Mike Wagenheim says it is “not possible” for Israel’s maximalist demand for Hamas to completely disarm to be met. “Although it would be only heavy weapons, they’d be able to keep personal weapons, which is a real complication for the Israeli government and the IDF as well,” Mr Wagenheim told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “For each phase that they completed of disarmament, Israel would withdraw to a certain portion out of Gaza, or at least closer to the border. “Israel is saying right now…we don’t trust Hamas, nor should they; I don’t think anybody does. “Can Hamas be completely disarmed? No.”
