‘Sick to death’: Government criticised for ‘sleight of hand’ with energy subsidies

Spokesperson for Affordable Energy Australia Zoe Hilton criticises the Albanese government for taking taxes to only subsidise them through energy. “I am sick to death of governments taking money through our taxes and then giving it back to us through energy subsidies and calling it affordability. That is not energy affordability, that is sleight of hand," Ms Hilton told News24 host Chris Kenny. “It is unacceptable and governments need to stop pretending that subsidising the heck out of a particular energy source is going to make our bills go down."
