‘Shame on you’: Former Labor MP blasts Penny Wong over alleged false West Bank statistic

​Former Labor MP Michael Danby says the Israeli Foreign Ministry was “100 per cent” right to call out Foreign Minister Penny Wong over what’s been described as a false claim. Ms Wong claimed in an address to the United Nations that settler violence had recently driven 15,000 children from their homes in the West Bank. ​“How infamous is it…for the foreign minister of a serious country like Australia to read false statistics against Israel into the United Nations record,” Mr Danby told News24 host Sharri Markson. ​“As if the Israelis don’t have enough people beating up on them. ​”Shame on you, Penny Wong.”
