Hancock Energy Executive Director Ian Plimer accuses Labor of being “absolutely hostile” to making energy cheap for Australians. “In Australia we have thousands of years of gas, sitting not only in the Beetaloo, but sitting in the Bowen Basin, sitting in the Surat Basin…we have thousands of years of gas in this country,” Mr Plimer told News24 host Rita Panahi. “We could have cheap energy which would then stimulate manufacturing, which would then stimulate employment. “We can only do this in the Northern Territory, and it’s an absolute shame that we’ve had a Labor government, and very much for a long period of time supported by the Liberals, having an energy policy that is setting this country bankrupt."
