Rescuers battle to reach hundreds buried alive in Nepal's flooded tunnel

Rescue teams and military personnel in Nepal are racing to reach workers trapped inside a tunnel after devastating flooding. Efforts are focused on the Upper Trishuli hydropower complex, where authorities say around 350 people could be trapped inside. About 10,000 Nepali troops, along with specialist teams from China and India, have been deployed to the site. The military airlifted heavy machinery in, and rescuers have reached the tunnel entrance to begin clearing debris blocking access. Teams with oxygen supplies and cameras will enter once the path is secured. Nepal's foreign ministry says the country needs international help with tunnel rescues, DNA testing and identifying decomposed remains, according to Reuters. The death toll from the flooding has now risen to at least 800, with more than 3,000 people still missing, including 42 Australians.
