Pedro Sánchez branded ‘absolute nutjob’ as border feud continues

​Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer describes Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez as an “absolute nutjob”. ​“The standoff between Spain and their left-wing leader Pedro Sanchez, who’s an absolute nutjob, and Giorgia Meloni of Italy- this is fascinating because these are two core European countries,” Mr Hammer told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. ​“These are two core European Union countries, two countries that are part of the Eurozone, that are part of the Schengen area, which is the European nomenclature for this zone where you can travel without a passport from one country to another. ​“My take on this…this Italian-Spanish standoff, if you will, is that this is just another data point against the pan-European project, against the broader notion that openness is the way and nationalism is the past.”
