One illegal e-bike crushed since government pledge is ‘terrifying’ for the community

NSW Shadow Transport Minister Natalie Ward says it’s “terrifying” the government hasn’t pushed forward the legislation to crush illegal e-bikes six months after pledge. “There are plenty of illegal bikes out there, and there are legal bikes with bad riders on them for which nothing is being done," Ms Ward told News24 host Chris Kenny. “We supported this legislation in May, six months ago, and we were happy to do so, but what is incredibly disappointing and almost terrifying is that this legislation is not in force yet. “The only bike that’s been crushed since that announcement is the one they had for the press conference.”
