JNS News Washington Correspondent Mike Wagenheim says the Omanis are trying to play “both sides of the fence” with the Strait of Hormuz. “The Iranians are talking to the Omanis about some partnership, laying down some fees, some processing fees, or management fees, or whatever you want to call it, within the Strait of Hormuz for ships passing through,” Mr Wagenheim told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “Of course, the Omanis have friends to answer to, namely the other Gulf countries there that are going to be harmed by any types of fees being added. “So the Omanis are now trying to play both sides of the fence, and the Gulf allies want to see an American response here to make sure that those fees are imposed.”
