‘Not sure I would make it out alive’: Flydubai pilot recalls fight for survival

The Flydubai captain injured during last month's attempted hijacking says he was not sure he would make it out alive. Smit Machchhar said he was struck repeatedly in the cockpit before hearing the aircraft's engines power down and feeling the plane enter a steep descent. He said he never gave up and called for help as he tried to defend himself.
