‘No one benefits’ from secrecy when it comes to the challenge of counter terrorism

News24 Defence Analyst Peter Jennings reacts to the Avalon airport hijacking case as the Australian Federal Police submit evidence only the judge can view. “I’m not happy about the secrecy … over the last decade and a half or so we’re seeing more and more of this happen,” Mr Jennings told News24 host Peta Credlin. “I think it’s a retrograde step … I think we’re better off as a society and were better off in terms of thinking about the counter terrorism challenge if we can be more open about where the threats are coming from. “The country that was potentially engaging with this youngster.”
