Mamdani’s plan to tackle antisemitism blasted for lack of focus on anti-Zionism

The Wall Street Journal Editor at Large Gerard Baker says New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s plan to tackle antisemitism has been “reasonably criticised” as it doesn’t emphasise anti-Zionism as a threat adequately. “He’s brought out a plan to tackle antisemitism; there had been some serious incidents of antisemitism,” Mr Baker told News24 Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus. “The plan to deal with antisemitism has been criticised, I think reasonably criticised on the grounds that it doesn't emphasise enough … anti-Zionism and the way in which anti-Zionism has been weaponised and can become very adjacent to antisemitism.”
