‘Major incident’: UK RAF base hosting US bombers placed under security lockdown

News24 host Jaimee Rogers reports homes have been evacuated near RAF Fairford after several men are arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act. “A major incident has been declared, and homes have been evacuated in a village near an RAF base which hosts the United States Air Force,” Ms Rogers said. “The base is RAF Fairford, which has served as a launch pad for US Bombers bound for Iran. “The BBC has reported that several men have been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act while an army explosive ordnance disposal team is currently examining a number of vehicles.”
