Major escalation in Iran war expected after US midterms

News24 Defence Analyst Peter Jennings predicts a significant “ramping up” of the US-Iran conflict when midterms conclude in November. “The real problem is not so much on the technology end; it’s on the fact that the American population doesn’t want to be fighting a significant war in the Middle East,” Mr Jennings told News24 host James Macpherson. ​“We’re seeing, to some extent, a pause in military operations; that’s what the Americans are trying to deliver, and then I think we will see a significant ramping up of the conflict after the midterm vote at the beginning of November. ​“We still need a strategy for victory, though, and I don’t see that coming out of the White House.”
