‘Looks very shaky’: US two-war capability under threat as munitions run concerningly low
Sky News AustraliaASPI External Contributor Mark Watson says the US’s traditional defence doctrine of being able to fight a war on two fronts is looking “very shaky” as munitions run low. “Very early on in this conflict we discussed how this was effectively an artillery war that was being fought,” Mr Watson told News24. “It’s going to come down to which side’s munitions will outlast the other. “You have to assume it will be the US over time, but right now they’re feeling the pinch, and that means the ability to fight a war on two fronts, which for a long time been a part of US strategic doctrine, that looks very shaky if you don’t actually have the munitions to back it up. “I’m not saying that they don’t, but I think everyone can agree they’re stretched.”
