Labor’s immigration changes will just be ‘window dressing’

Shadow Home Affairs Minister Jonathon Duniam says whatever changes Labor makes to immigration will be “window dressing” amid looming reforms. “We’re concerned that whatever Labor do will be window dressing,” Mr Duniam told News24 host Peta Credlin. “It's just going to be a way of tinkering around the edges to keep the left flank of their caucus happy, not to upset the groups in the community they like to keep onside and sound like they're talking tough out the other side of their mouth. “That's why we thought it was important, knowing that the government will inevitably have to do something if they’re serious about their rhetoric on immigration.”
