Labor ridiculed as energy and fuel costs leave Australians ‘doing it tough’

Nationals Leader Matt Canavan says soaring energy and fuel costs are hitting Australians hard, particularly those in regional areas where higher distances are driving up the cost of doing business. “People in the bush are struggling, so are everyone around the country,” Mr Canavan told News24 host Paul Murray. “This massive increase in energy and fuel prices hits harder because the further you go out, the distance gets longer; the cost gets higher. “It’s very, very tough to do business right now. “I can’t read people's minds into why they do things, but certainly this government is ignorant or has its head in the sand about these things. “We’re going in the wrong direction as a country; that’s hurting in the bush as well.”
