Assistant Technology and Digital Economy Minister Andrew Charlton reacts to dire warnings from AI tech bosses suggesting it could wipe out all of humanity. “The Australian people need to know … the government has been working on those risks for some time,” Mr Charlton told News24 Political Editor Andrew Clennell. “The government’s got a series of initiatives in place … the Australian Safety Institute for AI, which is working on precisely the types of problems these tech leaders have identified. “We’ve got an across-the-board government safety agenda.”
