Iran demands compensation from US in Strait of Hormuz deal talks

Iran has requested compensation from the United States as part of any agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement from Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi came after US President Donald Trump stated that a deal was near. Mr Araghchi provided further details on the negotiations, emphasising that any agreement would depend on the White House honouring its commitments in the Memorandum of Understanding. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has alleged that Iran struck another ship in the Strait with a missile, according to Reuters.
