‘I draw the line’: Political events increasingly met with threats and intimidation

Victoria Shadow Police Minister Brad Battin believes peaceful protest is a democratic right but draws the line when political events are met with threats and intimidation. “We’ve seen this before, I know, when we’ve tried to do things externally over time,” Mr Battin told News24 host Chris Kenny. “Everyone’s entitled to protests, everyone’s entitled to have a voice, but it’s when it starts to become threats to any political party that’s where I draw the line. “It’s almost been okay to protest on certain things and not okay on others.”
