Military Lawyer trained at Fort Hood Aimee Bateman questions whether broadcasting the proposed military execution would comply with US or international law. “I mean, from a legal perspective, I don't think it is legal by any international or United States standards,” Ms Bateman told News24 host Peter Stefanovic. “What's been briefed by the Secretary of the Army is that would happen on the military installation, which has a part of the installation that is under exclusive federal jurisdiction. “There's that federal supremacy, and they could get around certain provisions of Texas law. “Texas is a jurisdiction that has the death penalty. So, I don't believe anybody from the state level would probably try to intervene.”
