HEROIC INTERVENTION: Heroic bystander praised for stopping teen gunman at Oregon school

News24 host Elizabeth Pipko has praised an armed bystander for stepping in and shooting a gunman who had opened fire at an Oregon elementary school. “This right here is why the Second Amendment matters,” she said. “The Second Amendment isn’t just about owning a firearm. It’s about the fundamental right to protect yourself, to protect your family, and even to protect complete strangers. “We should mourn every innocent life lost. We must. And at the same time, we should recognise this hero. A man who had the courage to step forward when others desperately needed his help, risking his own life to protect them. I call that the American way.”
