Heartwarming moment Trump honours 9/11 hero 'man in the red bandana' with Medal of Freedom

US President Donald Trump has honoured Welles Crowther, the “man in the red bandana”, for his bravery during the 9/11 terror attacks. On Tuesday, Trump awarded Crowther the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his heroic actions on September 11, 2001. Crowther, a volunteer firefighter, saved up to 18 people following the terror attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York City. “Today we also remember another hero of 9/11. After the plane hit the South Tower, a group of people on the 78th floor were trapped with broken bones, charred skin and eyes and lungs filled with black smoke. Death was all about them. It was certain they were sure they were going to die. Then suddenly a rescuer appeared. They call him the man in the red bandana,” Trump said.
