‘He doesn’t want the establishment to cannibalise itself’: Democrats face 2028 civil war

The Article III Project Senior Counsel Will Chamberlain argues California Governor Gavin Newsom wants to consolidate establishment Democratic voters while avoiding a split with the party’s progressive wing. “She’s just the person who’s supposed to be consolidating his voters,” Mr Chamberlain told News24 host Rita Panahi. “He would be representing kind of the older Democratic constituency; you have to expect that someone like AOC or somebody from the DSA wing of the party is going to run. “He doesn’t want the establishment to cannibalise itself.”
