Shadow Defence Minister James Paterson says the Albanese government would “have to grant” an extension if the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion requested it as he labels it a “grave risk of failing”. “I want the royal commission to succeed … but right now I think it is a grave risk of failing and being judged very harshly by history,” Mr Paterson told News24 host Peta Credlin. “They gave the royal commission such a short time frame. “But if the royal commissioner asked for an extension of time, the government would have to grant it.”
