UNSW Business School Professor Richard Holden says the government has to find a way to “boost productivity” or otherwise risk falling into a recession. “It is a worry, but I think we’ve had something like 11 out of the last 15 quarters we’ve had negative growth per person, per capita,” Mr Holden told News24 host Chris Kenny. “We’ve got to raise productivity growth and boost the supply side of the economy, and the government talked about that again today. “Both sides of politics bear some responsibly … hasn’t gotten any better over the last four years.”
