‘Foreign investors win’: Albanese accused of putting Australians last in CGT deal

News24 host Sharri Markson condemns the Albanese Government’s deal with the Greens to preserve generous capital gains tax concessions for foreign investors while Australian businesses and investors face tougher conditions. “Growing anger after the Albanese Government has done a deal to give foreigners generous tax concessions while punishing Australian business owners and investors,” Ms Markson said. “Foreign investors will be able to keep the 50 per cent capital gains tax concession until 2040 ... meaning they only pay an effective rate of 15 per cent. “This is all because of a deal between the Greens and the Albanese Government. “But for all hard-working Australians trying to make a living, support their family and get ahead, there's no such luck.”
