‘Enormous burden on Australians’: Government debt surpasses $1 trillion

Shadow Health Minister Anne Ruston reacts to government debt passing a whopping $1 trillion and what it means for Australians. “It’s an enormous burden on the shoulders of Australians,” Ms Ruston told News24 host Chris Kenny. “It’s not just a trillion dollars that is titanic in itself, but it's what it means every single year in the budget. “That’s nearly $28 billion worth of interest. $28 billion could buy 200,000 nurses in our hospitals.”
