Criminologist supports Hanson’s DV comments

Bond University Criminologist Dr Terry Goldsworthy says the nature of domestic violence has changed in recent years and the ways it is reported. “It is true, I mean men do commit the more serious offences, domestic-related homicide offences to greater levels,” Mr Goldsworthy told News24 host Caleb Bond. “Men committed about 76 per cent and women 33 per cent of those intimate partner homicides. “If you look at things like coercive control, which deals with emotional and financial abuse, data from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare shows that the gap between male and female victims of that kind of behaviour narrows significantly.”
