CNN staffers in panic mode as Paramount merger could signal mass layoffs

CNN staff are panicking as an impending merger between the network’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount nears. The $US81 billion merger by CEO David Ellison is set to be completed in the coming weeks after a lawsuit was settled. On Monday, an antitrust suit filed by California Governor Rob Bonta was settled and cleared the way for the merger to be completed. A CNN staffer revealed to the New York Post that employees at the left-leaning network are “very nervous”. "It’s dark. It’s like when you do hurricane coverage. You see the storm spinning off the coast of Haiti and moving towards Florida, and you’re just waiting, and you’re like, ‘Oh, s–t’,” the staffer said.
