Former foreign minister Alexander Downer says Anthony Fauci denied the COVID lab leak theory because it would have been "hugely damaging" to his reputation. “He and his organisation had been providing funding for some of the research in Wuhan at the lab,” Mr Downer told News24 host Chris Kenny. “So, the idea of the lab leaking Covid was horrific from his point of view, reputationally hugely damaging, so he denied it. “They are coming to the conclusion that it clearly came from the lab.”
