Chilling CIA files expose ‘explosive airplane’ threat years before 9/11

America's Central Intelligence Agency has released documents showing it discussed the threat of an “explosive airplane” before September 11, 2001. The CIA released 71 presidential briefings from the administrations of Bill Clinton and George W Bush, between early 1998 and 2001. The intelligence service discussed the possibility of Al-Qaeda flying “an explosive-packed airplane into a US city”, three years before 9/11.
