California Democrat Xavier Becerra’s ‘sad and awkward’ campaign antics mocked

Former Republican nominee Rik Mehta calls out California candidate Xavier Becerra for his lack of “authenticity” in the campaign run. “What’s sad here is, of course, the awkward interview; it’s great for television. But the answers underneath it are the real story,” Mr Mehta told News24 Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus. “He said [Xavier Becerra] maybe corporations should get a second chance…we’re talking about a pharmaceutical company who seeded the entire opioid crisis. “Remember, Becerra was the former secretary of health, under him, over a 10-year span, we’ve had over a million American lives lost to the opioid crisis. “The problem is that when guys go out there and start campaigning and running, they lose their authenticity and credibility.”
