‘BLM normalised this’: Paris riots reignite fury over protests hijacked by extremists

News24 host Samara Gill argues the Black Lives Matter movement helped normalise societal breakdown by allowing legitimate causes to be taken over by violent groups and agitators. “When I saw these videos initially start to sort of pour out, I was thinking, no, that's BLM,” Ms Gill said. “Honestly, BLM normalised this sort of societal breakdown that we see where we get a cause, as you say, such as racism, which, of course, everyone is against racism. “Then it just gets co-opted by these crazy movements and total hooligans. “Online forums that are using these people as vehicles to sow their discontent.”
