‘Around we go’: White House enters fresh cycle of talks but no closer to Iran deal

JNS News Washington Correspondent Mike Wagenheim is doubtful any progress will be made between the US and Iran and notes it’s just the start of a new “cycle”. ​“The White House has consistently been optimistic about the chances for the deal,” Mr Wagenheim told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. ​“But the reality is there hasn’t been one, and I don’t sense there’s going to be one either. ​“We go through these cycles: the president threatens annihilation for Iran; he says somebody called him, whether it's the Saudis or another ally asking him to back off, he acquiesces, he says we’re opening the door to negotiations, talks begin, they go nowhere, we go back to the threats.”
