Alice Springs battered by storm as thousands lose power

More than 9,000 people are without power this morning after a destructive storm tore through Alice Springs. ​Winds of up to 100km/h damaged homes and businesses and brought down power lines. ​Emergency crews have been sent from Darwin to help restore electricity. ​Authorities warn some areas could remain without power for up to four days.
