ABC play an 'expensive role' in getting politicians match fit by being ‘narky and spiteful’

The Daily Telegraph’s Tim Blair says the ABC play a “very expensive role” in preparing politicians to “walk things back” and apologise for when things go too far. “This is actually where the ABC has a role, a very expensive role,” Mr Blair said. “But it’s handy to have people so narky and spiteful that it gives you a test for parliament before you even reach it. “They’re like cricketers playing in the nets.”
