Singapore's August core inflation rose to 2.2 per cent, up from July's two per cent. This is the highest in nearly two years. Headline inflation, which includes housing and private transport, also edged up to 2.3 per cent. It was 2.2 per cent the previous month. Economists say higher global energy prices linked to the Middle East conflict are now filtering through to costs here.
