Singapore reported fewer scams and lower monetary losses in the first half of this year. While they mark a continued improvement since 2025, they still made for almost 17,000 cases and more than S$410 million lost, according to a mid-year update by the police. Investment scams remain a major concern amid evolving tactics. In one case, an elderly man lost more than S$70,000 to what he thought was an AI-powered scheme. Sherlyn Seah reports.
