Singapore must never allow its politics to become so divided that people lose the ability to work together for the country's future, said People’s Action Party (PAP) Secretary-General and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during the PAP Conference on Sunday (Oct 25). Pointing to political developments in Europe and youth protests in countries from France to Asia, Mr Wong highlighted common pressures such as economic insecurity, affordability concerns and anxiety about the future. He warned against the temptation to offer quick fixes to complex problems. Mr Wong added that the PAP must take a long-term view, consider the interests of all Singaporeans and make difficult choices while taking responsibility for the consequences. #sgnews #singapore Subscribe to our channel here: https://cna.asia/youtubesub Visit our website: https://cna.asia Download our app: https://cna.asia/app Get our editors' picks of stories via chat apps: Telegram: https://cna.asia/telegram WhatsApp: https://cna.asia/whatsapp Follow us on these platforms: https://www.facebook.com/channelnewsasia https://www.instagram.com/channelnewsasia https://www.tiktok.com/@channelnewsasia
