Convicted murderer Christa Pike survived an attempt to execute her by lethal injection in Tennessee on Wednesday (Sep 30), in what would have been the state’s first execution of a woman in more than 200 years. Witnesses said Pike was seen smiling at one point during the procedure and received a second dose of the lethal drug after the first failed to execute her.
