A new S$4.48 million initiative is bringing specialised Parkinson's rehabilitation into the community. Called Kickstart Exercise and Empower Parkinson's (KEEP), the programme will be rolled out across 13 day care centres, targeting 2,000 people over the next five years. Aimed at people with early- to mid-stage disease, doctors say the aim is to intervene earlier before other mobility complications set in. More than 10,000 people in Singapore are estimated to be living with Parkinson's — the country's second-most common neurodegenerative disease. Sherlyn Seah reports.
